Man Cheats Goshamahal Voters, Booked

Hyderabad: South zone police opened a historysheet against Moulana Ali Quadri, 51, chairman of the Markazi Anjuman-e-Quadri Tanzeme, who faces more than six cheating cases amounting to over '80 lakh.

Quadri allegedly collected lakhs of rupees from the public claiming that he was prepared to contest independently as MLA against the BJP’s T. Raja Singh for Goshamahal, sources in Special Branch disclosed.

Quadri allegedly used his associate Mashaqui to spread the news over social media about his alleged intention to contest the elections and seek funds.

Police said cheating voters in the name of elections violated the mode conduct code. He also faced several cheating cases, south zone DCP Sai Chaitaniya told Deccan Chronicle.

When police went to arrest him at 4 am on Saturday from his house in Qazipura, Quadri managed to flee along with his family, sources disclosed.

Missing Woman Found Dead

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old woman who went missing from her home at Alwal three days ago was found murdered near the railway tracks at Alwal on Saturday. Police suspect that the killers could have trapped her under the pretext of providing her work. Police are examining if she was raped before being murdered. According to police, the woman, who was working as a daily labourer, left home for work three days ago.

Constable Who Looted Rs 18.5Lakh During Poll Check Sacked

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan on Saturday dismissed from service Armed Reserve constable Ballari Srikanth of the 2018 batch for looting Rs 18.5 lakh from a car during a vehicle check in the Panjagutta police limits on October 26.

Police said that Srikanth, along with another person in police uniform, stopped the car and told the occupants that they needed to check the vehicle in view of the elections. They took away the money which was meant to be deposited in a bank, police said.

The victims along with the cash receipts for the money approached the Panjagutta police at 12.40 am on October 27 and lodged a complaint. Chauhan personally enquired into the incident and dismissed the constable upon verifying the facts.

During investigation it was proved that the other constable was not aware that Srikanth had looted the money.

Teacher Held For Looting School

Hyderabad: Allapur police of Cyberabad arrested one S. Santosh Kumar, a teacher, and his friend Ishaque Ahmed on charges of stealing cash from his employer. Police said the duo broke open the lock of the office room in the school and looted Rs 11.5 lakh cash. The cash was the fee collected from the students. Police recovered '8 lakh cash from the duo.

Newly Murdered At Home, Husband Injured

Hyderabad: A 21-year-old newly-married woman was murdered by four unidentified persons at her house in NTR Colony Champapet, IS Sadan police said on Saturday. Her husband Vardhi Raju was injured. The couple was married last month.

Police said the four assailants were seen climbing down the stairs from the house of the victim, Vardhi Swapna, at about 11.30 am. Her neighbour P. Saraswati said they heard sounds of an argument.

Neighbours who rushed to Swapna’s house and found her in a pool of blood with stab injuries, and called the police. “We suspect that the couple knew the assailants as they spoke for over 20 minutes," police said.adding that all angles were being probed.

Police were verifying the footage of the surveillance cameras, call details of the phones of the couple and their social media accounts. Senior officials visited the scene and started an investigation. Police registered a case of murder and attempted murder and shifted the victim's body to Osmania General hospital for postmortem.

5 Arrested For Threatening Witnesses

Hyderabad: Police arrested five rowdysheeters who were involved in over 65 criminal cases of kidnapping complainants and threatening to eliminate them if stood witness in court. City police commissioner Sandeep Shandilya ordered that the police secure their remand till the end of the elections.

Marredpally sub-inspector N. Lakshmi Narayana lodged a complaint against the accused: Sunny Yadav, realtors Chirraboina Krishna Yadav alias Golla Kittu and Chandra Prabhu alias Baban, car driver Bidlani Viswender and K. Ravinder Reddy.

An advocate, Veerababu, is at large, north zone DCP Deepti Chandana said.

Bookie Held, Rs 3.4 Lakh Seized

Hyderabad: North zone task force nabbed a cricket bookie, Ishan Ali, from Abids and seized Rs 3.4 lakh cash. He was organising betting on the Cricket World Cup in association with Barkath Lalani, now residing in the USA. Ali started betting in 2014 while he working with one Mehul Vora. He obtained online credentials from Lalani and had accumulated points equivalent to Rs 22 lakh.
