Hyderabad: A girl has confessed to killing her mother who, according to the police, opposed her relationship with her boyfriend. Keerthi reportedly took the help of her lover to kill her mother, Ranjitha, 38, and kept the body at home for three days before disposing it of on the railway tracks near the Ramanapet station.

According to the police, the incident happened on October 19. Keerthi and her boyfriend, Chanti alias Sashi, killed Ranjitha by strangling her with a chunni. They spent three days with the body until the smell of the decomposing body forced them to shift it in a four-wheeler on October 21 and leave it near the railway tracks.

Keerthi’s father, Srinivas Reddy, who was a lorry driver and would be on the road and away from home for weeks at a time, returned on October 24 and found the house locked. He called his daughter who told him she was in Vizag with her friends.

But she came home that evening and along with her father, went to Hayatnagar police station to file a missing person’s complaint. In her statement, she accused her father of harassing her mother.

Finding something fishy, relatives questioned Keerthi about her Vizag tour and she gave evasive answers. After two days of questioning by her relatives, she told them her mother had committed suicide.  When asked about the body, she was silent.

The investigating team were informed about this and took her in for questioning. She confessed that she had a grudge against her mother for opposing her relationship with her boyfriend and thus the two hatched the plan to kill her.
