Two held in Hyderabad over failed visa fraud
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Cybercrime Police arrested two persons including a Nigerian national for cheating an unemployed youth to the tune of Rs 16 lakh by way of offering a visa for Canada. The arrested persons are identified as Boby Francis and Selvaraj Peter Joseph, while Dr Paul Cole, John Crawford, Sumitha Babitha and Jayanthi are absconding.
According to police, Boby and Paul posted advertisement in websites offering work visa for Canada. Joseph runs Nissi Enterprises agency at Chennai, contacted them for visas. He collected 15 passports and Rs 1.2 crore from his agent Senthil and handed over the passports and Rs 90 lakh to Boby and Paul. Joseph, through Babitha, asked him to pay Rs 45 lakh more.
Meanwhile, the victim M Kasi Narendra also contacted Joseph for visa giving him Rs 16 lakh. Joseph collected 24 more passports and handed them with Rs 10 lakh to Crawford. The visas were never delivered.
Based on Narendra’s complaint, police arrested Boby and Paul in Delhi and brought them to Hyderabad.
