Hyderabad: A 21-year-old government employee committed suicide by drinking poison in front a girl’s residence in Vikarabad district late on Thursday because she rejected him. The deceased was identified as Mahipal, agriculture extension officer, Sangareddy district.
According to the police, the victim studied in Navachaitanya School, Chevella till ninth and shifted to a relative’s house in Patancheru in Sangareddy. He completed his Degree in Agriculture in Jayashankar Agriculture University and landed a government job a year ago.
During his schooling in Chevella, he met a girl and fell in love with her. However, when he proposed to her recently, she rejected his proposal. Following this, Mahipal went into a depression and decided to end his life.
At 9 pm on Thursday, he went to the girl’s house and consumed poison. An alert passerby immediately took Mahipal to hospital where he was pronounced brought dead.
The police has registered a case and launched an investigation. They handed over the dead to family members after the post-mortem examination.
