Hyderabad: South Zone police conducted a cordon-and-search operation in Hussain Sagar area of Bahadurpura in which 350 policemen participated. They seized 82 bikes, three autorickshaws and one car for lack of documents. Eight rowdy sheeters were also taken into custody.
South Zone Additional DCP Syed Rafeeq, Charminar division ACP B. Anjaiah and other officials took part in the search operation, which was conducted in the early hours of Friday. It was the first such operation under the supervision of Amber Kishore Jha, IPS, who took charge as South Zone DCP.
“Eight rowdy sheeters and three suspects were detained and their current activities were checked. Apart from that, 82 bikes, three autorickshaws and a car were seized after their owners failed to produce valid vehicle documents,” said the official.
The police used the C-DAT mobile application to verify call data records, which revealed that the detained suspects were believed to be in contact with other criminals.
