Hyderabad: Advocate attacked at home, out of danger
Hyderabad: A 72-year-old advocate was attacked by an unidentified person in Kushaiguda. Police said the suspect who introduced himself as a client slit B. Gopal Reddy’s throat with a knife and fled . Though Mr Reddy suffered a deep injury, he is now out of danger. Meanwhile, advocates condemned the attack and demanded immediate arrest of the suspects.
Mr Reddy, a resident of Kushaiguda is practising as an advocate at Ranga Reddy district court and at Malkajgiri court. On Wednesday night, when he was at home along with his wife Pushpalatha, an unidentified person came and told that he had wanted to discuss about a case.
As the couple reside on the ground floor and the office is located on the first floor of the same building, Mr Reddy and the stranger went upstairs to discuss about the case.
“When the stranger came in, he gave reference of one Anji Reddy and told that he was sent by him to discuss about a case.” said Pushpalatha to the police. A few minutes after they went upstairs, Ms Pushpalatha heard a loud cry and she rushed to the office and found Mr Reddy lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors found a deep injury on the throat. He was treated and is said to be out of danger.
Based on his wife’s complaint, an attempt to murder case has been registered.
“We are verifying about who is Anji Reddy, whom the suspect named. We have also collected some clues from the spot, which may lead us in the investigation.
We can get more details, once the victim will be able to speak” said Mr K.Chandra Shekar, Inspector Kushaiguda Police station. The Inspector added that there are no cctv cameras at his house and also in the surroundings of the house.
