Dismissed AR constable accuses IPS officers of illegal actions

Bhanu Prakash with a placard ‘AP CM Jagan Sir, Save AP Police’, urged the chief minister to release the arrears of SIs, ASIs and constables

ANANTAPUR: AR Constable Bhanu Prakash, who was dismissed from service at the police headquarters here for various reasons, has made sensational comments against several IPS officers and inspectors.

"Several of these top officials are involved in illegal activities, they are protecting murderers," he said, adding they targeted him for his demand to clear the long-pending arrears of constables, ASIs and SIs across the state.

On June 14, the AR constable ran into a controversy after he staged a protest with a placard at the police memorial in the district police office premises. He did this during chief minister Jagan Reddy’s visit to the district.

Bhanu Prakash with a placard ‘AP CM Jagan Sir, Save AP Police’, urged the chief minister to release the arrears of SIs, ASIs and constables’ in the state. His superiors were angered over this. However, it helped as the government released arrears immediately.

Notably, the AR constable was facing allegations and criminal cases, including one on harassment of a woman in the district. The police department has been probing the allegations and criminal cases and the constable was dismissed from service. The dismissal order was pasted at his residence on Sunday night.

Bhanu Prakash was not present in the station when the notice was served. He reached back on Monday and reacted strongly against the higher authorities, saying he was being targeted as he was from a Scheduled Caste.

Speaking to the media here, the constable criticised several IPS officers including a former SP in the region but now worked in TS, over the suspicious death of a home guard.

“The authorities targeted me only after staging a silent protest with a placard at the memorial to bring the issues to light,” he observed and added that none of the IPS officers and inspectors facing allegations of wrongful acts has ever been punished.

“An SP from the region is constructing medical colleges in Karnataka but no action is initiated against him. An inspector from Hindupur played a role in killing a woman and no case was registered against him,” the constable said. He also made serious allegations against the Anantapur SP and ASP.

The dismissed AR constable had also raised allegations against Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav in Rayachoti, but the higher authorities took no action.

He said the termination order against him was not proper and he would approach the SC/ST Commission, the National Human Rights Commission etc against the injustice done on him.

Anantapur SP Fakkeerappa Kaginelli claimed that six criminal cases including abduction, harassment of women and attacks were pending against the AR constable. “He is using social media to escape from a probe. Already two allegations were proven against him,” the SP said and ruled out any harassment of him by the police department.
