Bengaluru: A rowdy, along with five of his gang members, was arrested by the Jnanabharathi and Chandra Layout police in connection with the murder of another rowdy Arjun alias Tatte (32) on August 24 in Vinayaka Nagar in Jnanabharathi police station limits.
The arrested are Joseph (28), Jayanth B. alias Chikka Bale (20), Shaik Sohail (21), Deepu alias Mental (24), Manu alias Patil (21) and Satish alias Maple (22).
According to the police, the murder took place around 6 pm on August 24 next to a cemetery near Sports Authority of India campus. Rowdy Arjun and Joseph were of the same gang and had turned foes over an issue recently and fought over it.
On August 20, both Arjun and Joseph had gone to the funeral of gang member Manju Barma’s father in Bannerghatta. The duo picked up a fight there too. Joseph learnt that Arjun was planning to eliminate him.
Later, Joseph hatched a plan to kill Arjun and asked his two associates to keep an eye on his movements.
On August 24, Joseph learnt that Arjun was near Sports Authority of India campus, he rushed to the spot along with five gang members and murdered him. The gang then fled the scene of the crime after hitting Arjun in the head.
