Kochi: Teen girl attacked with blades by alleged stalker, 4 others; hospitalised

Kochi: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly attacked with blades by five men after they broke into her house in Kodanad area in nearby Perumbavoor, police said on Monday.

The girl, who sustained injuries on her body and palms, has been admitted in a private hospital here, they said.

According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday while the girl's parents were away from home.

The girl's family had earlier filed a complaint against one of the gang members who is also their neighbour, for allegedly stalking the girl.

Police suspect this could be one of the reasons for the girl being targeted.

Her parents alleged that police did not act on their complaint against the youth for disturbing their daughter.

They also alleged that the gang had threatened their daughter, asking her to withdraw the complaint against the youth for harassing her at a bus stop, while she was returning from school.
