Krishnagiri: Tipsy siblings fracture policeman's nose in violent attack

They rained blows on the constable that fractured his nose and broken his tooth.

Krishnagiri: In a bizarre incident, two tipsy brothers were arrested for landing blows on a policeman that fractured his nose in the wake of an argument arising from the public nuisance near Poochampalli in Krishnagiri district on Saturday.

The injured 50-year-old constable, Narayansamy attached to Samalpatti police station was brought to the government hospital here with a fractured nose and broken tooth.

Narayanasamy told doctors that he was attacked on Saturday at around 3 pm by two bike-borne tipplers who intimidated road users with their rash driving.
He said he was was attacked near Santhur junction road in Poochampalli police limits when the constable had asked them to stop the nuisance that angered the tipsy brothers.

First, they verbally abused Narayanasamy and then his department after coming to know that he works as a police constable. They rained blows on the constable that fractured his nose and broken his tooth.

Others who witnessed the incident saved the policeman and also nabbed the accused identified as 20-year-old truck driver Somasundaram and his 25-year-old elder brother Shanmugam of Mullai Nagar in Poochampalli.

The Poochampalli police registered a case against the duo and the two were remanded to judicial custody.
