THIRUVANANTHPAURAM: A 33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl on Friday. The accused, a married man was identified as Manoj of Maithri Nagar near Jagathy. He befriended and sexually abused the Class XI student. He took her to a room next to a vehicle workshop near Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Jagathy.
The matter came to light when the girl tried to commit suicide recently. Though she refused to spill the bean, parents approached police who found the accused. He was arrested by Poojapura Sub Inspector J. Rakesh.
