Thrissur: A woman and her paramour were awarded sentence to life in prison by the POCSO court here on Friday for subjecting her daughter to sexual abuse. Aattayam Aliyar,52, of Irumalappadi in Kothamangalam and the mother of the minor girls were the convicts in the POCSO case. The case was registered in 2015. Both the minor girls aged 17 and 12 of the woman were subjected to sexual abuse at a lodge in Thrissur by Aliyar. Their mother is an accomplice in the crime.
The court order on Friday was on the case of sexual abuse meted out to the 17-year-old girl while the POCSO case on abusing the younger daughter is still under trial. The father of the minor girls was bed ridden and their mother had a relationship with Aliyar. The girls were brought to the lodge in Thrissur with the knowledge of the mother. POCSO sessions judge Muhammed Wasim issued the order and the prosecution was represented by public prosecutor Pious Mathew.
