Bengaluru: Murder cracked in a month, relative held

The incident came to light when other employees came to the room, found Sourabh dead and called up the police.

Bengaluru: The Byatarayanapura police have cracked a month old murder case by arresting a victim’s relative, who was absconding after the murder on June 20 in Hosaguddadahalli.

The accused, Mithun Das (28), had bludgeoned Sourabh Das (25) to death with a wooden log before fleeing the spot.

Both the accused and deceased were from Assam and were working at a hotel near Satellite bus stand in Byatarayanapura police limits. The duo and the other staffers of the hotel were living in room given by the hotel in Hosaguddadahalli.

Around 3 pm on June 20, a scuffle broke out between Sourabh and Mithun over a financial issue when they were about to leave for work.

In the heat of the moment, Mithun hit Sourabh in the

head with a wooden log and Mithun collapsed and died.

The incident came to light when other employees came to the room, found Sourabh dead and called up the police.

Mithun had fled the scene after the incident and was absconding. Byatarayanapura police succeeded in arresting him in the early hours of Friday.
