Aurora Engineering college student circulates nude pics of classmate online, held

Hyderabad: Rachakonda's Cyber crime police has apprehended a student of Aurora Engineering college, Uppal on charges of creating a fake profile of his classmate on Gmail and Instagram and posting nude pictures and abusive comments.

The arrested, identified as Eerla Vital Kumar. 22, and the girl were classmates. Over a period of time they became friends and when she became close to another boy, Kumar felt jealous and developed a grudge against her. He took her Instagram User Id and password and sent abusive messages and nude images to the victim's friends and also sent abusive messages to defame the victim. Later, he started blackmailing her to send her nude pictures.

D. Jalender Reddy, inspector of police said, “Based on technical evidence, clues and credible information, the cyber cell team nabbed Kumar at Kukatpally bus stop and seized his mobile used for committing the offence.”

“Girls/Women should be cautious while using the internet on their smartphones and not share their personal information, images and other derogatory and explicit material, which may damage their personal lives,” added Reddy.
