Kochi: The Inforpark police in Kochi has arrested a 34-year old IT professional identified as Nirmal Kammath in connection with hacking and destroying two websites developed by a company-based in Infopark for its two clients. The accused was taken into custody on a complaint filed by Unity Bees alleging that the hacking and destruction of the websites have caused the company a loss of Rs 23 lakhs.
The arrested was earlier working as a project manager in the company and the company sought an explanation from his following his poor services. The person was then staying away from the company without permission and joined another firm at the Infopark in Koratty. The accused then used his official computer in his new office to hack into the system of former employers and destroy the websites.
The hard disk and other materials gathered from the computer used by the accused have been sent for forensic examination. Nirmal, a native of Aluva, has been remanded into judicial custody by a local court.
