Hyderabad: The Madhapur police has booked a cheating case under Section 420 of IPC on Palamuri Grill Restaurant at Ayyappa Society for charging Rs 9 extra on a Rs 20 water bottle, and for overcharging on a soft drink.
The complaint was lodged by one Mr Vijay Gopal who had gone to the restaurant with his friend to have dinner.
When the bill arrived. the complainant was shocked to see the extra charge. When he asked the hotel management, they initially argued but finally discounted Rs 20 on the bill, one of the Madhapur police official said. Mr Gopal lodged a complaint with the police after the payment of his bill was completed.
