Hyderabad: 2 prostitution rackets busted, two arrested
Hyderabad: Two organisers of prostitution rackets were arrested by the commissioner’s task force and SR Nagar police respectively on Thursday night. The arrested suspects are Madhav Reddy, 42, and Palaksha, a native of Karnataka and one Vinod from Kadapa.
In the first case, the commissioner’s task force raided a flat in an apartment complex in West Srinivasa Nagar and apprehended Palaksha and Vinod, who were organising prostitution.
They rescued a 23-year-old sex worker, who hailed from Ahmedabad from their clutches and recovered Ra 1,100, six cellphones and some condoms. In the second raid, SR Nagar police busted a racket and arrested one Madhav Reddy and rescued a 25-year-old woman. The police officials recovered '4,000, four cellphones and condoms from the place.
“The raids were conducted based on tip-offs and the rescued women were sent to a rescue home for rehabilitation,” said the SR Nagar inspector Md Waheeduddin.
“The accused Madhav Reddy was involved in several similar cases in the last three years and was arrested by Saroornagar and Chikkadpally police,” the inspector added. A case was registered under the PITA (Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act) Act of 1956 against the arrested individuals.
