Sriram Reddy on Friday, following senior police officers referring to him as Bomb Naga.

“The notice is issued to you under the instruction of my client V. Nagaraj. It is to inform you that, my client had approached the High Court of Karnataka in 2014, wherein he prayed the court to direct the police not to call the petitioner as ‘Naga', or ‘Bomb Naga’ or ‘Pal Naga’ in future in the interest of justice and equity. When the matter was called on June 15, 2015, the Government Advocate brings to the notice of the court that the endorsement dated March 8, 2014 issued to my client where you have indicated that the said petitioner would not be referred to ‘Naga’, or ‘Bomb Naga’ or ‘Pal Naga’ in any of their records and would be indicated as V. Nagaraj only. Based on the said endorsement, the petition was disposed,” the notice stated.

“My client informs me that, on April 14, the Hennur police went to the house of my client with a search warrant. After the search, when the media approached you, you have called my client as ‘Bomb Naga’ and also one, Hemant Nimbalkar, a subordinate officer, also called my client as ‘Bomb Naga’. Knowing the order, Intentionally you have stated him as ‘Bomb Naga’. This deliberate act is nothing but violation of the orders of the court. My Client has no option but to initiate contempt proceedings against you. In spite of this notice if you call my client as ‘Naga’ or ‘Bomb Naga’ or ‘Pal Naga’, my client will initiate contempt proceedings against you,” the notice stated.
