National cybercrime coordination centre's help sought by TS officials

Hyderabad: Cybercrime officials said that they will write to the national cybercrime coordination centre seeking action on YouTube for giving a platform to these persons indulging in trolling.

“In such instances, YouTube is also not providing us with information. We are working with open source Intelligence techniques, developing clues and investigating the cases,” officials said.

DCP Cybercrimes, Hyderabad Sneha Mehra said, “We are writing to YouTube also about these activities,” she said.

Mehra added that it is up to YouTube to take action or not. “For some action at the national level, we will write to the integrated cybercrime coordination centre,” she added.

“In China, there is a ban on social media platforms. Even TIkTok is banned in India. That (action on YouTube) is a separate issue. Right now, we are doing whatever is possible to prevent such activities,” Mehra said
