HYDERABAD: Commissioner of police, Hyderabad, C.V. Anand launched 77 CCTVs installed in central zone’s Musheerabad, Gandhinagar and Chikkadpally police stations. They have come up at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.
Anand attributed the dip in crime rate, improved women safety and detection of property cases to the improved electronic surveillance in Hyderabad. He said that the state government had done well by prioritising allocation of resources to the police department and setting up a top grade command control centre that is to soon integrate 10 lakh camera feeds.
Highlighting about the Telangana Public Safety Act, he urged the public to fix cameras in their premises. “Efforts are underway to fix all defunct cameras through the D-CAMO program,” he said after felicitating all donors.
