Thiruvananthapuram: Police clueless on Radio Jockey's murder

Thiruvananthapuram: The police team probing the murder of radio jockey Rajesh alias Rasikan Rajesh at Pallickal near Killimanoor is yet to get any definite leads about the accused.

According to police sources, they were expecting to get some valid leads after taking detailed statements from the family member of the accused in the coming days. Police was planning to collect statement of family members on Thursday.

“We strongly suspect that the murder was over some personal issues. But we have not yet received any direct evidence and hence may take some time to crack the case,” a senior police officer said.

The call records of the phone of the deceased as well as calls on the nearby mobile phone towers were also being analysed by the police. The police also collected footage from all nearby CCTV cameras.

Public works minister G. Sudhakaran informed the Assembly on behalf of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday that a special investigation team would be probe into the murder. He also said that the police could only confirm that the murder was executed by a four member gang. Attingal DySP Anil Kumar is heading the special investigation team.

Police sources said that there no evidence for any robbery attempt. Rajesh’s friend Kuttan, who was injured during the attack by the gang, also said that he was ignorant of the provocation.
