Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police busted an interstate ganja smuggling racket and arrested a four persons including two students in Vanasthalipuram on Tuesday. Police seized Rs 10 lakh worth ganja weighing 178 kg from the suspects which they were smuggling to Mahara-shtra. The suspects are M. Jeevan, 32, and P. Sanjeeva, 44, both native of Warangal, S. Kumara Swamy alias Kumar 24 a BEd student from Tallakota Village in Vizag and T Vishnu, 23, a student of Sala Village in Vizag.
Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagawat said that based on a tip off, teams conducted vehicle checks and intercepted one car (AP 31AM 2233) in Autonagar area. “The officers, while checking the vehicle, found the ganja pouches in the dickey,” he said. They said that they purchased each packet for Rs 4,000 from villages in Vizag and were going to sell them to a drug peddler, Jija, in Solapur for Rs 6,000.
