Drunk medical officer creates terror on road of Dammapet
Kothagudem: A medical officer, who was in an inebriated condition, caused din for half an hour on the road between Nemalipet under Dammapet on Sunday. He dashed his car against two kids and rammed into two cars and a three-wheeler. He did not stop his vehicle after hitting the kids. Pedestrians ran for shelter due to his reckless driving. Later, the doctor surrendered before the police.
The doctor, N. Rajasekhar, who is working as a medical officer in Sujathanagar, was driving a Swift Dzire car from Patewarigudem on Sunday. He hit two kids — Venkat Ganesh and Gauri Sankar — who are studying in Class V. They were shifted to a hospital by locals. Gauri Sankar’s leg was fractured and Venkata sustained injuries. Later, he drove the car to Aswaraopet. People tried to intercept his vehicle, but he rammed into two cars – a Swift Dzire belonging to the village revenue officer and another car on the route.
Later, Rajasekhar drove the car to Aswaraopet road, and hit an autorickshaw. Fortunately, there were no passengers in it. He then headed for the police station and surrendered himself. An alcohol brewing test was conducted and it is found that he consumed alcohol more than the permissible limit. A case is filed against the doctor.
