Kochi: One held for sexually assaulting woman
Kochi: A woman hailing from North Paravur was allegedly gangraped after being asked to come to a flat at Alinchuvadu in Kochi to take up employment in an event management company. Though Nayarambalam-native Abhilash (28) was arrested on Friday, the remaining seven accused, including the main-accused Shine, are on the run. In her complaint, the 26-year old woman alleges that she was promised a job in Shine’s event management company and the latter asked her to come to his flat at Alinchuvadu for a final interview. When she reached there, Shine along with his aides locked her up.
“The incident happened on second week of December. Shine and another accused sexually assaulted her and recorded the same in their mobile. They then blackmailed her and forced her to sleep with the remaining accused while taking her to various locations,” the police said. The complainant alleged that she was locked up in a room in the flat and that her mobile phone and purse were forcibly taken away. The ordeal went for 40 days before she managed to escape from there and lodged a complaint with the Palarivattom police. “A search is one for Paravur native Shine and others,” police said.
