Hyderabad: 2 Delhi men held in job scam

The duo started an agency named AS Group Consultancy and procured details of job aspirants from portals.

Hyderabad: Two Delhi-based men who cheated unemployed youths by promising them jobs in Indigo Airlines were nabbed on Saturday.

The suspects, Rahul Kaurav, 23, and Arjun Singh, 22, impersonated themselves as HR managers of Indigo Airlines and looted Rs 1.85 lakh from a city-based student.

Police said the duo started an agency named AS Group Consultancy and procured details of job aspirants from portals. They employed four others to maintain an office. They contacted a student named Sravan Kumar Reddy from Jeedimetla who was looking for a job in the airline industry, and told him that he had been selected by Indigo Airlines, but had to pay a security deposit and fee for processing the appointment. They collected Rs 1.85 lakh from Sravan which he transferred into their PayTm accounts.

Sravan late filed a complaint. Police found the money was transferred to accounts linked to Canara Bank and that the suspects had created fake email IDs by spoofing the IDs of HR managers of MNCs, and had trapped hundreds.

Police arrested the duo and they were remanded to custody.
