Ayesha’s parents seek CM Jagan\'s intervention for justice

Vijayawada: The parents of pharmacy student Ayesha Meera, Tuesday, appealed to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his intervention to help them get justice by arresting the culprits involved in the brutal rape and murder of their daughter.

The victim’s mother Shamshad Begum said here that it has been 15 years since the murder of their daughter, but the culprits were still moving scot-free and had not been brought to book yet. She alleged that police arrested some innocent persons in the case and left the real culprits to move freely. She said that they would continue their fight, even at the cost of losing their life, until justice is provided for their daughter’s brutal rape and murder.

Begum alleged that no government had provided any justice to them so far and wondered about the fate of the report of the repost-mortem even four years after its conduct. She said that though all the details about the case were handed over to the CBI, there has been no progress in the probe and demanded the government come up with an Act in the name of Ayesha on the lines of ‘Nirbhaya Act.’

Ayesha’s father Iqbal Basha alleged that there was no protection for the people belonging to the minority community in the country. He alleged that CBI had failed to submit the report and missed its deadline of one month after the conduct of repost-mortem.

Moreover, the parents are planning to move Supreme Court to get justice in their daughter’s murder case.
