KANNUR: A BJP worker was hacked late on Monday night, near Taliparamba. Rajeesh P., (30), a painter, was taken to Pariyaram medical college and later shifted to a hospital in Mangalore. However, police said that there was no political rivalry behind the attack, and the suspects had fights with him in the past.
Rajeesh, Paramban House, Trichambaram, was left bleeding for a long time, till his brother found him near the government rest house. Both his legs were cut, and he was profusely bleeding. Police made no arrests so far. The victim was an accused in two cases. Taliparamba circle inspector K.E. Premachandran, who is the investigating officer, said the police was looking at various aspects.
