Former BBMP corporator accused of assaulting sister-in-law
Bengaluru: The Srirampura police have registered a case of assault and criminal intimidation against former BBMP corporator and rowdy V. Nagaraj for allegedly assaulting his sister-in-law over a property row.
Police said that the incident took place last Sunday. Nagraj, who was staying with his wife and children in Swatantrapalya in Srirampura, had a property dispute with his brother.
However Nagaraj continued to harass his sister-in-law and family. On Sunday he assaulted them and is currently absconding, along with his two sons.
The family had earlier filed harassment complaint against Nagaraj with the Srirampura police and the police had summoned and warned Nagaraj to stay away.
Police further said that Nagraj was arrested in May last year for running a demonetized currency exchange racket.
Based on the complaint filed by his niece, the Srirampura police have registered a case and begun investigation.
