Babu left home to meet a friend and at midnight, he was found lying in a pool of blood on the town's outskirts.
Faisal's mother Meenakshi's statement pointed the needle of suspicion at Sangh Parivar organisations and their involvement in the murder which was reportedly in retaliation for Faisal's and his family's recent conversion to Islam.
Hyderabad: A 41-year-old former Maoist was brutally murdered in Siddipet. Police said the killers hit K. Babu with an iron rod on the head. Babu, who was working as a commander in Chandranna dalam, surrendered in 2002, and was working as a driver.
Police said, Babu, who belonged to Lingampet village of Siddipet district, was a Maoist for around a decade. After that, he started working as a driver for one Pavan Kumar.
On Saturday afternoon Babu left home to meet a friend and at midnight, he was found lying in a pool of blood on the town's outskirts. “We are checking his call data for clues and whether he had enemies,” DSP G. Narsimha Reddy said.
Babu is survived by his wife and three sons.
