Hyderabad: Filmnagar police registered a case against Durgam Pradeep, division president of BRS, for allegedly abusing and assaulting Potrapalli Srinivas, an autorickshaw driver belonging to the Dalit community, and threatening him with dire consequences.
A case has been registered under the IPC and the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, said Filmnagar station house officer M.G.S. Rama Krishna.
Srinivas, in his complaint, said that on Thursday afternoon Pradeep had summoned him over the phone to the BRS office at Shaikpet. When he got delayed, Pradeep slapped him on his face, beat him and threatened him. Pradeep contended he had helped Srinivas secure a 2BHK flat.
He also threatened Srinivas to not interfere BRS workers and abused him in the name of his caste, according to the complaint
