Hyderabad: 9 persons nabbed for theft cases

The police arrested Mehraz and recovered 23 tolas of gold and 25 tolas of silver from him.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Friday arrested nine persons, including five women, who were involved in separate robbery cases.

In the first case, Syed Mehraz, 38, a physically challenged auto driver, along with his associate, Sathyamurthy, targeted locked houses in Rajendranagar. The police arrested Mehraz and recovered 23 tolas of gold and 25 tolas of silver from him. Sathyamurthy is still absconding.

In the second case, six persons, including four women, were arrested. They were involved in robbery cases in Rajendranagar, Mailardevpally and Chandrayanagutta. The suspects were identified as T. Anjamma, 50, T. Nageshwar Rao, 50, D. Ramesh, 32, C. Narasamma 42, Sammakka alias Laxmi, 40, and A. Yadamma, 40.

They target houses during nights. Based on a tip-off, the police arrested them and recovered two tolas of gold, 22 tolas of silver, one bike, Rs 40,000 and stolen clothes worth Rs 70,000.

In the last case, two persons, including a woman Raziya Begum, 70, were arrested.
