Bengaluru: Pervert on the loose, spooks Cooke Town

The unidentified man chased some girls on the road and entered their residential colony.

BENGALURU: It was a scary and harrowing experience for a group of girls who had gone to wish their close friend on her birthday in Cooke Town early Wednesday. An unidentified man allegedly ‘flashed’ at them and masturbated in their presence.

The pervert didn’t stop there. He chased the girls down the street, entered their residential society, and followed them to the II floor, while still exposing his private parts, till he was hounded away by one of the girls’ father.

The incident took place in Cooke Town in the Pulikeshinagar police station limits. The sexual predator was caught on the CCTV camera installed on the building premises.

The Pulikeshinagar police who have viewed the CCTV camera have launched a manhunt to nab the pervert. The father of one of the girls who was chased has shared the CCTV footage on a social media platform urging people to help nab the sexual predator.

R.D, father of the girl told DC, “It was my daughter’s birthday on Wednesday. Her friends and colleagues had arrived in two cars to wish her at around 12 am, when a pervert came behind them masturbating. Shocked at the sudden turn of events, my daughter and her friends ran for safety inside the building and immediately took the lift and evaded him. He then chased them running up the stairs while still exposed. It was only when my wife opened the door that the girls barged in crying for help.”

“The pervert was still lurking around. As I chased him, he fled. If we had delayed opening the door I have no doubt he would have attacked them. It took time for all of us to calm down. I immediately approached our ward corporator Hanna Bhuvaneshawri, who helped us file a police complaint,” added the father.

The Pulikeshinagar police have formed a team to nab the pervert. A police team visited the spot on Thursday. Meanwhile, high drama prevailed on Thursday morning on High Street in Cooke Town after the news vent viral on social media.
