Telangana: Childhood friends end life
Hyderabad: Two childhood friends who allegedly lost money on online betting committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train in Nalgonda district. The two were identified as Boorugu Nagaraju and Batthu Charan.
Railway police said Nagaraju, 20, a college dropout, was running a mobile phone repair shop in Miryalaguda and Charan, 19, a school drop-out, was working as a bike mechanic. The duo were close friends since childhood. Police said that Nagaraju often used to tell his friends that life was nothing great and that it was a waste. He also spoke of ending his life. On Saturday night, at around 7.15 pm, he called some friends and told them that he will commit suicide and also do something disturbing. His friends thought that he was trying to frighten them.
On Sunday morning, passersby saw the bodies of Nagaraju and Charan on the railway tracks and informed the police. The bodies had been cut into pieces.
It was later found that Nagaraju and Charan had left his shop on Charan’s bike and had gone towards the Miryalaguda railway station. They committed suicide by jumping in front of a train between Kondrapole and Miryalaguda railway stations.
Though there were rumours that the two had lost huge amounts in Kabaddi and cricket betting, police said the suicide was triggered by Nagaraju’s mental problems. Police registered a case of suspicious death.
"Nagaraju was going through depression and could have made Charan also end his life with him. Nothing suspicious have been found. Their mobile phones were analysed but there was nothing suspicious," Nalgonda GRP SI T. Achyutham said. Police registered a case of suspicious death.
