Hyderabad drugs racket: Dutch peddler refuses to budge, seeks his rights

The SIT has decided not to send notices imm-ediately to other stars whose names have cropped up during interrogation.

Hyderabad: The Dutch national Mike Kamminga, who was arrested by Excise sleuths with the drug DMT (dimethyltryptamine), a more potent drug than LSD, has refused to cooperate with the investigators after he was arrested on Thursday.

He has demanded that the police tell him his legal position. He refu-sed to give the Special Investigation Team access to his mobile phone and laptop, and the SIT will now send them to password cracking experts. Kamminga is a social media strategist at 84 Ideas Webtech in West Marredpally. He comes from Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

A SIT source said, “He was arrested based on the confession by two employees who are drug users. They said that Kamminga not only uses (drugs) but shares it with them. During questioning at the time of arrest, he repeatedly asked about his legal position. He has refused to give access to his electronic devices.”

Zeeshan Ali Khan, a drug peddler who was arrested previously, is an events organiser and police accuse him of using and sharing dr-ugs. “He was caught in a service apartment. His phone details revealed actor Navadeep’s number,” said a SIT officer.

The SIT has decided not to send notices imm-ediately to other stars whose names have cropped up during interrogation.

“Till August 2 we are busy with the questioning of the stars. 3-4 names are coming out strongly. But at this moment there is no proof. We are focusing on the postal department where parcels are sent,” he added.
