Bengaluru: Teenage girl ends life over love failure
BENGALURU: An 18-year-old PU girl student consumed poison and died at her residence in Yeshwanthpur after her boyfriend broke up with her on Tuesday.
She was studying in second PU and was staying on Triveni Road in Yeshwanthpur. She was in a relationship with a polytechnic student for the last one year.
The police said that the accused had promised to marry her, but on Tuesday he called her and told her that he was breaking up with her. He immediately disconnected the call.
The victim tried to call him repeatedly to know the reason, but he had switched off his phone. The girl then consumed pesticide while she was alone at home. The parents, who returned from work on Tuesday evening, found her unconscious and rushed her to a private hospital, where the doctors declared her as brought dead.
Enraged family members traced the boy and thrashed him before handing him over to the Yeshwanthpur police.
The police have taken up a case of abetment to suicide against the accused and are investigating.
