Teacher arrested for stabbing kid in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Bowenpally police on Monday arrested government primary school teacher Ananthaiah for stabbing his student with a pencil. The police had booked a case against him two days ago for attacking the student.
Ananthaiah, who teaches Telugu in the school, had allegedly stabbed Class II student K. Nani on his neck on Friday at the school.
Nani’s father of K. Venkatesham, a labourer, had lodged a police complaint against the teacher after the incident.
According to the complainant, on Friday, at round 9.30 am, when Ananthaiah was taking his class, Nani went out without the teacher’s permission to relieve himself.
When he returned to the class the teacher saw him and beat him up severely. He also took a pencil and stabbed Nani on his neck causing an injury, according to the complaint that Mr Venkatesham lodged with the police.
The boy collapsed in class, after which he was taken to a hospital. Police said the teacher has been produced before a local court on Monday.
