Telangana: Biker hurt in school van mishap

The van belonged to Vigna Talent School in Narayankhed.

Hyderabad: A school van hired for transporting TRS party workers for the plenary in Warangal grievously injured a biker in Medak district on Thursday. The van belonged to Vigna Talent School in Narayankhed.

According to police, Sainala Ravi 24, a resident of Lakshminagar tanda, is working for a rice mill. On Thursday morning, he was going on his bike (AP 23C 1202) to purchase fuel. When he entered the main road from a village road, the school van (TS 15UA 4953) proceeding towards Medak from Narayankhed hit the bike at a high speed, due to which Ravi sustained severe injuries on head and legs and the bike was also damaged.

“He was rushed to hospital and is in critical care now,” AI Papannapet M. Narsimhulu said. Meanwhile, the bus driver, Upender, fled from the spot, leaving behind the van and around 25 activists who were in the van. Police registered an accident case and seized the school van. According to sources, the TRS party Narayankhed unit hired around 25 school buses and vans belonging to private schools in the area to transport its workers to Warangal to attend the party plenary. The case is under investigation.
