Bengaluru: Two held for assaulting cop
Bengaluru: Two peole, including a woman, were arrested after they allegedly assaulted an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) attached to the Indiranagar traffic police station on Thursday morning. The arrested have been identified as Harika Borse, 30, and Pradeep, 20. Borse, who hails from Hyderabad and works in a private company in Koramangala.
According to the police, ASI Prabhu Ratnakar was deputed at KFC Junction in Indiranagar. Around 10.30 am, the woman was reportedly going towards M.G. Road on her two-wheeler. She allegedly jumped the signal and Ratnakar flagged her vehicle.
“When he told her to pay the fine, she picked an argument with the policeman and allegedly abused him. She took objection for stopping her and also hit the policeman with her helmet. Meanwhile, some passersby had gathered and one of them, identified as Pradeep, in support of the woman and slapped the police. A Hoysala rushed to the spot and arrested both,” the police said.
