Five injured in crude bomb explosion in Kerala
The five were engaged in making crude bombs at a vacant place when the explosion took place around 9.30 pm, says police.
Kozhikode: Five persons have been injured, two of them seriously, in a crude bomb explosion near Thiruvamparambu in the district, police said.
The five were engaged in making crude bombs at a vacant place when the explosion took place around 9.30 pm on Wednesday, Nadapuram sub-Inspector Rajesh said. All of them have been admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
Cases under sections 3 and 5 of Explosive Substances Act were registered against them, Rajesh said, adding no arrests were made.
The incident comes at a time when the campaigning for the May 16 Assembly polls has picked up momentum and top leaders including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Rahul Gandhi are scheduled to visit Kerala in the first week of next month.
