Man killed by his father-in-law in Kamalapur

Police suspect that financial and property disputes led to the killing.

Karimnagar: In a shocking incident, a 46-year-old man was fatally attacked by his father-in-law when he was asleep in the open space outside their residence at Gudur village in Kamalapur mandal on Saturday night. The man died in hospital on Sunday. Police suspect that financial and property disputes led to the killing.

The deceased was Kondam Mahender Reddy, a native of Gudur and son-in-law of Gudala Raji Reddy from the same village. He was living at his wife’s house for the past two decades. “Mahender received serious injuries to his head. He died while undergoing treatment at MGM Hospital in Warangal. Raji Reddy decided to eliminate his son-in-law as he was not giving him money for his needs. The two were at loggerheads over financial issues,” said police sources.

Hailing from Gudur, Mahender is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters. Based on a complaint from Mahender’s brother, police registered a case. Post-mortem of the body was performed at the Huzurabad government hospital.
