KOLLAM: A lab attendant of the higher secondary school, Neduvathoor here, who sexually assaulted a Plus-Two girl student on Wednesday last, has gone absconding. According to Kottarakkara police, who registered a case against the accused Adwani, 45, of Ezhukone on Monday, he allegedly subjected the girl to exhibitionism in the laboratory and molested her. She had gone there for her second-year lab examinations along with 15 other students. She was harassed when she approached the attendant for clearing her doubts during the afternoon session.
The girl disclosed the incident to her parents and the school authorities. The Childline workers visited the girl on Saturday to record her statements and the case was handed over to the police. “The accused had earlier tried to grope a girl during the revenue district youth festival held at Kottarakkara in 2010 and he was also arrested. He has gone absconding now and the police are in search of him,” Kottarakkara SI T.S. Sivaprakash told DC. He has been charged with sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
