VIJAYAWADA: Two children were killed and eight others sustained injuries when a lorry coming in the opposite direction rammed into the car they were travelling near Uppalapadu village of Veldurthi mandal in Palnadu district in the early hours on Friday.
According to police, A driver and a marriage party of nine persons including two kids were travelling in a car from Mutukur village of Durgi mandal towards Sirigipadu village in Veldurthi mandal covering just about 15 km distance. At about 7.00 am, when they reached near Uppalapadu village, a lorry coming in the opposite direction rammed into it.
Under its impact, all the 10 suffered injuries. The two children succumbed to their
injuries while on their way to a hospital. The remaining injured persons were
shifted to a hospital at Narasaraopet for better treatment and of them, the
condition of two persons is said to be critical.
The deceased were identified as Linga Jasmitha, 3 and Gonuguntla Harish,
