Govt removes director for involvement in fake currency racket

VIJAYAWADA: The AP government removed nominated non-official director Rajaputra Rajani from the board of the AP Bondil Welfare and Development Corporation for involvement in the fake currency circulation case. Principal secretary to the government’s BC welfare department G. Jayalakshmi issued the order removing Rajani from the post and instructing the person in charge of AP Bondili Welfare and Development Corporation to take further necessary action according to rules and procedures.

It may be recalled that Rajani is a YSR Congress leader appointed as the non-officials director, but she was arrested by Karnataka police recently in the fake currency racket case. The government, responding to the case, issued a removal order on January 25, but it came to light on Friday.
