Hyderabad: An agriculturalist from Hayathnagar was booked on charges of murder, after a youngster whom he had beaten succumbed while undergoing treatment on Sunday.
According to teh police, Mallesh, who is in his mid-40’s is an agriculturist and a native of Munaganoor village.
A few years ago, he had given a loan to one K. Edukondal, a labourer from Abdullapurmet. Edukondal was regularly paying interest until recently.
On January 25, when Edukondal’s son Das and his nephew Dibbaiah went to a relative’s house at Munaganoor village, Mallesh obstructed them, picked up a quarrel and beat them for Edukondal’s delay in clearing the debt.
Dibbaiah who received injuries to his head and elbow, went into a coma and was admitted to a hospital for treatment, where he died on Sunday.
Based on a complaint from Edukondal, a case was booked under Section 324 of IPC against Mallesh.
The case has now been altered to Section 302 of IPC and Mallesh has been taken into custody, said the police.
