Bengaluru abuse: Woman makes a U-turn
Bengaluru: In a twist to the recent alleged molestation case of a North Eastern woman, who was allegedly molested by two men, the complainant reportedly told the police that both the accused were innocent and her friends. She is also willing to withdraw the case, but the police have decided to complete the investigation first.
The woman, who works in a private company, had alleged that she had gone to a pub on Brigade Road on January 13 night. After a few rounds of drinks, she was not in her senses and two men had forcibly took her into their car and drove till Banasawadi, where they had left her at a place and escaped. Two days after the incident, she had filed a complaint stating that she was allegedly molested by the two inside the car.
As the Banasawadi police probed the case, even the CCTV footage at the pub revealed that two men were carrying the inebriated woman to their car. Based on the clue, they arrested two men, including a Yemeni national. Sources said that when they summoned the woman for questioning, she made contradictory statements.
“She said that she knew both the men and had filed a false case against them. In fact, they had left at the house in Banasawadi, where she was living earlier before moving to J. P. Nagar. Further, she said that she was not molested and sought release of her friends. She also expressed her willingness to withdraw the complaint. However, as both the accused in the case have been already arrested, we have decided to complete the probe and submit report, including her denial, to the court," an official said.
