Visakhapatnam: Woman kills husband over disputes
Visakhapatnam: Upset over the upending disputes in the family, a woman murdered her husband by hitting his head with an iron rod at Korasawada area under Pathapatnam police station limits in Srikakulam district. Though the incident took place in wee hours of Monday, it came to light on Tuesday after the police registered a case.
The deceased was identified as Poornachandra Panigrahi, 52, while the accused is Kunthala Panigrahi. The police said Poornachandra married Kunthala alias Suhasini around two decades ago and the couple has a 15-year-old girl. Poornachandra had an affair with a woman that has led to the dispute between the couple and above that, he could not make both ends meet as he was economically weak. On Sunday night, there was a heated argument taken between the couple and she killed him. She was arrested in a fit of rage Kunthala had beaten Poornachandra with an iron rod. Severely injured Poornachandra was admitted to a hospital but the medical team declared that he was brought dead. Based on the complaint from the victim’s brother, the police led by Sub-Inspector M Harikrishna registered a case and taken the accused into their custody.
