Hyderabad: Four juveniles arrested in dacoity case
Hyderabad: Hayathnagar police arrested four juveniles who had earlier escaped from an observation home at Bandlaguda and went on a dacoity spree. The seven-member gang was busted during investigations into a case where an Ola cab driver was robbed.
According to police, the gang had attacked the driver on December 18 and escaped with his cab. The gang had booked the cab and took the vehicle to an isolated area where they beat up and pushed out the driver.
“The suspects were on the run after their escape from the observation home in Bandlaguda on November 23. They had been stealing automobiles, breaking into houses and committing theft in LB Nagar, Hayathnagar, RC Puram, Sanathnagar and Kukatpally,” said LB Nagar DCP Tafseer Iqubal.
The gang consisting of four juveniles and three others had committed eight property offences and bike thefts.
“On November 23, they broke open the iron grills of the observation home and escaped after beating the warden and watchmen. Since then they were moving on the city outskirts,” said a senior official.
