Hyderabad: Five people were arrested for the rape and murder of a woman at Rajendranagar. The suspects had lured the victim offering money and raped her at the Mushk Mahal in Attapur. The rapists allegedly hit her with a boulder on her head and killed her before fleeing the spot. The victim’s body was later found by locals.
The arrested suspects were identified as Mohammed Yusuf, 20, Syed Nawaz, 21, Syed Gafoor, 20, Mohammed Mubeen, 21, Azam Khan, 21, and Mohammed Amer, 20, all of them from Rajendrangar
According to police, the suspects had consumed alcohol from a toddy shop at Hyderguda in the last week of September and picked up a woman near the shop. “They have a habit of picking up street prostitutes after getting drunk. On that day, one of them picked up an unidentified woman from Hyderguda area and took her to Mushk Mahal offering money. The other suspects followed them without her knowledge. At the Mahal, all of them raped her and killed her,” said a senior official from Rajendra nagar zone.
All the suspects have been booked under iPC Section 302 for murder and 376 for rape.
