Odisha: Maoists threaten to kill three
Bhubaneswar: Suspected Maoist posters were found on Sunday at Kalyansinghpur Tehsildar’s office in Rayagada district. The CPI Maoist leaders of Rayagada Area Committee are suspected to have put up two posters on their office premises asking them to stop the combing operation at Niyamgiri area.
Through the posters, the rebels have threatened three persons – Suresh Kumar Bal, Ajit Padhi and Raju Gouda – of “dire consequences” for “working with the state intelligence department against the Maoists.”The red rebels have also opposed the construction work of CRPF camp in Haat Dahikhal area asking the contractors and brokers to stop road construction work at Niyamgiri area and demanded the government to waive off farmers’ loan and removal of Vedanta from the region.
Two more posters were also found at an Anganwadi centre in Kadambadwar sahi and Sai Nagar. The police seized the posters and started a combing operation in the area. The local residents suspect that some unscrupulous persons might have pasted the posters. “Normally, the Maoists use red ink to write their posters. But, here the posters are written with blue ink,” said Chandrasekhar Panda, a local journalist.
