Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is in the eye of storm as political parties irrespective of ideology on Sunday slammed it for closure of lady teacher Itishree Pradhan murder case. Senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra said it was unfortunate that the CBI submitted a closure notice in the Supreme Court before reaching a conclusion.
The ruling BJD, an arch rival of the BJP, said the saffron party used the central investigating agency to save former Koraput LS member Jayaram Pangi, who joined BJP recently. “In the history of CBI, definitely the closure of Tikiri lady teacher murder case would be a blot. This is very unfortunate,” said the BJP leader. BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb stated, “Jayaram Pangi, against whom fingers were pointed in the murder case, is in BJP. Therefore, the buzz is that the CBI was used.
